Óbuda University is a public university located in Budapest, Hungary. It was established in 2000 and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields.

UNIVERSITY

Óbuda University was founded in 2000 as Budapest Tech (Budapesti Műszaki Főiskola) through the merger of three polytechnic institutes: Bánki Donát Technical College, Kandó Kálmán Technical College, and Light Industry Technical College.

The university was granted full university status on January 1, 2010, and has since been recognized for its excellence in education and research.

RANKINGS

According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, Óbuda University is ranked in the 1001–1200 range globally. In the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, the university is placed in the 601–800 range.
